Costumer Evaluations

When I first began to play with this I was going to rush off and give it five stars. Just after now having played with it for a week I cannot pretty give it five but it is nonetheless a lot superior than you may possibly anticipate.

I've played with the iPad and the Galaxy and the Xoom, and I have an Android smartphone (HTC). I wasn't expecting the very same efficiency and you do not get it but it's not bad at all.

The tablet runs a version of the Eken software modified by a guy on the Slatedroid web page. This android develop is Vestinious 1.3

Out of the box you have book reader (kindle), web, e-mail and games. Angry Birds runs better on this than on my smartphone!

If you want a tablet to fundamentally surf the web, read a book, send the odd message and play the odd game then it does the job. It is fantastic worth.

If you can't see several APPS in the marketplace make positive you clear the markey cache. The android forums are helpful for this. The only factor I couldn't get to operate was iplayer which says the tablet is not compatible.

If I was being crucial then there are a handful of things - the screen is not rather sharp, probably due to the resistive overlay. The resistive touch screen is OK and scrolls nicely etc though does quite often misinterpret what you want to do. The screen feels vague and plasticky, virtually soft below touch.

The worst thing is possibly battery life. Much less than 2hours of use (net/games and so on) will flatten the battery.

New software builds will aid and there are APPS to turn off WiFi when not in use.

We bought this unit so we could access the world-wide-web when abroad without getting to take a laptop. This unit is terrific value for what it fees.

WiFi access is quick and trustworthy and the browser is wonderful. The on screen keyboard, which appears when you highlight a text box is straightforward to use.

Have tried the video and music player and the picture high quality is fine, sound is fine through earphones. UTube works fine and having flash player is a bonus.

All in all a rather fine tablet at this price tag.

Have just spent five weeks abroad and discovered the tablet extremely helpful. Able to access net and e-mail with wi fi connection.

Did get started to get some matters :

1. Screen was oversensitive at occasions and led to incorrect choice from screen.

two. Had concerns with each My Music and My Video in that SD card was not read properly and got message SD is updating.

three. Unable to access Google Appmarket.

A different reviewer mentioned Slatedroid and an update known as Singularity. I contacted Wendy and she Okayed this update. Particulars below. Carried out this update these days and all difficulties above resolved.

http://173.255.228.138/~rogercalver/ - if you get a dilemma with a certain

version, just download yet another and attempt that. (Beta V2 is the ideal at the

moment)

Unzip it to a personal computer and then transfer the "FirmwareInstall" folder and

the "wmt_scriptcmd" file (and these two ONLY) on to a blank, formatted

(FAT32) memory card.

Insert the card and turn the tablet on - it should automatically update and

you will be asked to remove the card when it is completed.

Once that is completed, you may very well need to follow these instructions also -

So now genuinely pleased with the tablet and think it is great value
